Help

VBSTAR Record Scheduler is used to schedule any number of VBrick VBSTAR appliances to record DVD-quality audio/video at a configured date and time for a configured duration.

Operation

You will start by entering a name plus the IP Address, Username and Password for a VBSTAR.  Then press "Add" to add this VBSTAR to your list of available devices.

Next, select the start date and time then the stop date and time.  Enter the file name that will be used for your recording, or select "Autoname" (in which case the file name will be the VBSTAR location plus the date and time.  Press "Add Item" to add this to your schedule.

When all the scheduled items are entered, press "Start Schedule".  When the date/time arrives, the scheduler will communicate with your target VBSTAR and recording will begin for the specified duration.  You can stop recording immediately and remove the item from your schedule by double-clicking on the item in the schedule.

If desired, you can save your schedule to a file and later reload it.  Please be sure you use a unique file name for your schedule if you have more than one.

If you check "Autostart On Load", then the next time you start the application, it will load the last-saved schedule and will the schedule will begin to run.  You may wish to put a shortcut to the application in you Windows "Startup" folder so that the schedule runs automatically when your computer is booted-up (e.g. after a power failure).

Ending If you stop this application, obviously new events will not occur.  But any recording in progress will continue for the correct duration.
Hide/Show Schedule shows or hides the current schedule

You MUST set your VBSTAR recording for the desired source address and other behaviors (e.g. FTP after record).  The scheduler does not alter these settings.   For example, if your VBSTAR is configured to record from a particular IP address, this is what it will do at the scheduled time.  If you intend to record from the MPEG-2 encoder in the same VBrick, be sure the addresses match, or set your encoder destination 2 to enabled and set to 127.0.0.1 and set the recorder to the same thing.
